Elvis Presley may have “left the building,” but acclaimed tribute artist Matt Stone is keeping his memory alive during his Elvis In Person Tour. Join this Friday night at the SC Children’s Theatre for “the #1 Tribute Concert in America!” After years of studying the King, Stone has perfected Elvis’s charisma and vocal power, bridging his iconic shows to life. Even Elvis’ step brother, Billy Stanley, once said that, “When I heard [Matt]… now if I close my eyes that’s Elvis. It touched my heart. The only person I ever heard sing like that was my brother, and [Matt] was real close—SCARY— that’s how close it was.” Tickets start at $27 and are selling out fast. It’s a show that true Elvis fans will not want to miss!
In a world dominated by international and mass produced goods, there’s a growing belief that the most cherished items in life are those that are crafted locally and by hand. Find handmade items such as pottery, leather products, art, jewelry, toys, and more! The First Dibs tickets are $25, and general admission tickets are $8. Children 16 and under are free on Saturday. Local treasures are waiting!
Time Out New York calls A Chorus Line,” One of Broadway's all-time greats, with more kick than most other shows combined." This beloved Broadway musical is coming to Mauldin Theatre Company this weekend. It focuses on the inner lives of dancers, as they audition for an upcoming play and deal with tumultuous feelings, ranging from joy to despair. Sing along to classics like “What I Did for Love, “I Can Do That,” “The Music and the Mirror,” and “I Hope I Get It.” Tickets are $20, but a discount is available for military, students, and seniors. Enjoy a night out on the town with this Broadway Classic.
Like Henri Matisse once said, “Don’t wait for inspiration. It comes while working." Be inspired this weekend at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts (GCCA’s) Summer Party! Enjoy mini workshops and pop up classes that let your creativity and curiosity shine. With the price of admission ($35), enjoy complimentary desserts from Benji’s Bakes, Mavericks Donuts, and Poppingtons Popcorn.
