Celebrate freedom this June at the annual Juneteenth Soul Food Festival. Fountain Inn is proud to host its large event of the season, with help from local churches, businesses, and non-profit organizations. Be inspired by local performers: spoken word poets, musicians, comedians, and dancers. And of course, the highlight of the event is its scrumptious Soul Food, such as fish, shrimp, and wings. Additionally, check out the pop up market for unique, homemade products and baked goods. Let’s celebrate!

Coachella is old news; ForgeFest is the place to be when it comes to music festivals. Check out their 6th annual music festival this June 14th-16th. They’ve got a stellar musical lineup, with guests such as “Night Owls,” “Randomonium,” “Swamptooth,” and more. Savor “Sassy Sides” and/or “Sammies” at Fireforge’s Kitchen, and enjoy their signature beers on tap throughout the weekend. Tickets are on sale now and more details can be found at the link below. Put your feet up, take in the tunes, and revel in the simple things this summer.

Three

Swing into summer with Music & Mini Golf! Takeoff Mini Golf, Greenville’s aviation themed miniature golf course, is throwing a summer bash this weekend, featuring three live bands. Putt putt your worries away while jamming out to Adjy, Sunset Electric, and WhoAmI. Chow down on sizzling burgers and zesty wings from one of their many food trucks. Additionally, Traveling Taps, a beer establishment, will be serving from 4:30-7:00 pm. Tickets are affordable, and run between $10-12 dollars, depending on the participant’s age. Takeoff into fun this Saturday.

Understanding history helps us understand patterns of human behavior, and thus, helps us avoid potential pitfalls. History is also wildly entertaining. That’s why Chautauqua’s History Comes Alive Festival is sure to be a knockout. Join as Charles Dickens, El Vaquero, Maria Von Trapp, and more, tell their behind the scenes stories. Performances will be held inside during the day and outside during the evenings. Note: Please reserve your spots online for indoor shows, and bring your own lawn chair for outdoor shows. Check the link below for more detailed information regarding showtimes. Be on the lookout for Chautauqua’s essential question: Does the character’s image match the truth?
