A berry special event is coming to Greenville's Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery: the Strawberry Festival! Sip on a strawberry mimosa or a berry beer while wandering the aisles of the Swamp Rabbit Cafe. Or, stroll outdoors into the sunshine to encounter local vendors, including Honest Scoops ice cream. Then, from 3-7pm, DJ Shane will be revving up the party with his based beats. Soak in the sweetness of the summertime season with some strawberry love.

Local artists Taylor Corum, Shannon Hoover, Riibread, Trey Francis, Jeff Holland, Lynn Holcombe, and more, will be serenading the crowd from three different stages throughout the day as wanderers explore the wildlife. Younger members are invited for craft making and face painting. Additionally, the princesses from Once Upon a Dream will be there to join in all the festivities. Food and beverages will be available for purchase in the park via credit card; all outside food/beverages are not permitted. The first 100 individuals to purchase a ticket will receive a free drink coupon! As for admission, children’s tickets are $20, and adult’s tickets are $30. All activities are free! Say “hello” to Bubba the tortoise and Chuma the lion if you stop by!

Shakespeare’s plays were not intended to be read via script; they were meant to be experienced live so that audiences could fully appreciate the humor, wit, and relatability of his characters. Experience Shakespeare this summer during the Upstate Shakespeare Festival, featuring LOVES LABOUR’S LOST and Henry lV. Presented outdoors at Falls Park on the Reedy River, participants are encouraged to bring a folding chair or picnic blanket for optimal comfort. Shows are offered Thursday through Sunday from now till June 16. This two hour show is completely free, thanks to the Metropolitan Arts Council. Just like Shakespeare, this festival will have you saying, “I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it.”
