The musical genius Ludwig Van Beethoven once observed that, “Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy.” Be inspired by a “higher revelation” this weekend during the Greenville Symphony’s Opening Night of Beethoven’s Ninth. At the Peace Center, Greenville’s Symphony will perform the Ninth Symphony with help from three collegiate choruses. Experience melodies like “Ode to Joy,” thanks to the symphony's new Music Director. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $58 dollars. Get lost in the melodies and be still in the moment; you just may find a higher revelation, too.
From now until October 17th, Haywood Mall has a new attraction: Bal Harbour Shops Pop Up. Check out a smaller version of Bal Harbor Shops (in Miami, FL), right here in Greenville by visiting the luxury style pop up mall. Thirty individual shipping containers have been renovated and are now selling “luxury fashion, jewelry, and lifestyle brands.” One highlight at Bal Harbour Shops is their weekly Seafood Tower Happy Hour event, held on Saturdays from 11-3pm. Enjoy fresh seafood: oysters, shrimp, crab, and more, in a high class setting. The bounties of the ocean are calling!
“The sky is home to the dreamers of the earth” – Leonardo da Vinci. Reach for the skies at the Warbird Weekend Static Aviation Show this weekend at the Greenville Downtown Airport. Enjoy a free airshow, featuring vintage planes, helicopters, drones, and warbirds. Check out historic military vehicles, a flea market, and even an aviation class from the Civil Air Patrol. Looking to take a personal flight around town? Book a flight online to soar up into the clouds.
Established in 1997, The Cook’s Station is a staple of Greenville to anyone who has a passion for food. Locals shop for kitchenware, eat at the cafe, and attend affordable cooking classes here. This Saturday, The Cook’s Station is hosting a free Fall Festival with tent sales, food/wine tastings, and live music. This pop up event is running from 9-5pm. It will be a relaxed afternoon of quality conversations and chill vibes while walking the streets of Greenville. There’s something for everyone at the Station!
This week’s gallery spotlight focuses on Spoonbill Gallery, a “beautiful architectural space” built by artist Joseph Bradley. This vibrant and eclectic space features “national artists and rising talents.” October will highlight artist Moni Hill, a German native that moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains and never looked back. Her paintings encapsulate the biodiversity of the hills and forests found in Asheville, via “color and texture to reflect the interconnectedness of life and landscape.” Check out her exhibit for free Tuesdays-Saturdays, and say hello to local art enthusiasts. You may even decide to bring a piece of NC back with you!
